Accredia is the only national accreditation body appointed by the Italian government (in application of European Regulation 765/2008) to certify the ability, independence and impartiality of the certification, inspection and verification bodies, and of the testing and calibration laboratories. Accredia is a recognized non-profit association supervised by the Ministry of Economic Development.

IFEAT was founded in London in 1976 when Ron Neal convened a management committee of traders, intermediaries and essential oil users to form an international organization able to represent all areas of the sector. The first executive committee was elected under the presidency of Ron Neal and Ramón Bordas Snr, and today the organization has over 550 member-companies representing over 55 countries.
The mission is the same as ever: promoting the essential oil and aromatic chemical commercial sector worldwide, encouraging the production of essential oils and aromatic chemicals and cooperating with the international associations which represent essential and aromatic oil compounds, organize international meetings and develop a constructive dialogue between producers, retailers and users of fragrances and raw material flavors.
